BUTURLIN FAMILY

Maxim and Yеlyzaveta

About them
We are a young family, married for less than two years. We live in the small but ambitious city of Kamianka. We are members of the Light of the Gospel church.
My husband Max is 20 years old and works as a painter at a furniture factory. He serves on the teen team at the church. He plans to join the sports ministry and develop it at the local level.
I’m 26 years old, I work for the NGO GROUNDS CENTER, and part of my time I manage social media and create designs for the English GROUNDS children’s development center, and I also help with the information part of the ministry for the church: I write reports and process photos.
My husband and I got to know God through the teen ministry. We became friends with the leaders of the local church and they told us about Jesus and His love. So now we continue to carry out this mission in the local church. We serve teenagers because they are the future of our country and our church. We hold teen clubs and small Bible study groups every two weeks.
We dream that our church will be replenished with young families who can take responsibility and carry out God’s ministry.

Ministry overview
The war in Ukraine has helped me realize once again that I will never be a person who will just sit still, so I continue to carry out my mission to serve teenagers. This is not an easy job because it requires constancy not only with teenagers, but also constancy with God. We cannot tell someone about the love of God if we do not experience it ourselves. And this is a challenge for me, because in a time of instability, when you don’t know if your country will be safe, I have to focus on Jesus, His promises and love!
That year we held teen clubs together with the teen ministry team. These were weekly meetings for 45 teenagers. I also led a small group for girls. In the summer, our team organized a camp for these teenagers, and I coordinated this process from start to finish. It was an intense time of preparation and the camp itself. During that period, I learned to trust people even more in order to delegate work, to trust God, because He controlled the whole process. I also gained new skills, made good and bad decisions, but the camp was great. We still receive feedback from children and parents.
Now we continue to serve teenagers, and I am focused on girls who are just beginning their acquaintance with God. I believe that it is God who will bring them even closer to Him and change their hearts.
